The School of Leadership and Policy, welcoming its first class in fall 2027, reflects our commitment to preparing students not only for successful careers, but also for the responsibilities that come with leadership. Announcing Maj. Gen. Parker H. Wright as the school’s inaugural dean brings our vision into even sharper focus. His experience developing leaders in complex, high-stakes environments will help shape a school dedicated to preparing the next generation to make a meaningful difference.
Developing those leaders is one of our greatest responsibilities.

Discovering What Is Possible
- Congratulations to the 10 students selected for Fulbright awards for 2026-2027. Each will study, conduct research or teach abroad while experiencing new cultures and perspectives. We are proud of the way they continue to represent The University of Alabama and make the most of opportunities that expand their understanding of the world.

By connecting core courses around themes like global engagement, innovation and digital literacy, the program helps you explore ideas from different perspectives, build practical skills and make your Alabama experience even more meaningful.
Developing Through Experience
- Congratulations to the more than 14,300 students named to the dean’s and president’s lists this spring. Achievements like this are built one class, one project and one semester at a time. Thank you for the commitment you bring to your studies and to our community.
- Samuel Ogazi added another remarkable chapter to his Alabama career at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. His race produced the fourth-fastest 400-meter time in world history while securing a second consecutive national title and setting both the collegiate and the Nigerian national records. Samuel’s achievement, along with All-America honors and strong performances across the team, reflects the talent and hard work of our student-athletes. We are proud of the way they represent The University of Alabama on the national stage.
- Students, a new Office of Internships launching this fall will allow you to gain real-world experience while you are at Alabama. Internships are one of the best ways to explore career interests, develop professional skills and build confidence in your abilities. If the occasion presents itself, say yes. The experience you gain can help you discover new possibilities and better understand the path you want to pursue after graduation.
Serving Through Innovation
- The Lee J. Styslinger College of Engineering continues to build momentum, earning recognition from U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s fastest-rising engineering programs. Through research, innovation and hands-on learning, students are tackling real-world challenges and helping shape the future of Alabama and beyond.
Stewarding Leadership Excellence
- Through Army and Air Force ROTC, students are developing the skills and character that leadership requires while preparing for roles that carry significant responsibility. As we invest in new facilities and expanded opportunities for cadets, we are strengthening a program that has helped prepare generations of leaders to meet challenges with integrity, discipline and purpose.
