Recognizing Student Achievement
- Last week was Honors Week, and we recognized the academic achievement and leadership of our students. I want to personally congratulate those who were honored. You represent the discipline, commitment and drive that make this University strong. I am proud of you!
- Tomorrow, the UA Career Center will host a campuswide job fair, connecting you with employers and creating opportunities that support your future success. I encourage you to take advantage of these experiences as you prepare to launch your careers or seek internships across Alabama and beyond.

Congratulations to those honored — your work spans disciplines, extends beyond campus and keeps Alabama at the forefront of knowledge and innovation.
Supporting What Matters Most
Across campus, faculty and staff continue to invest in what matters most — our students and the experiences that prepare them. Through the We Are UA campaign, led by Drs. Brent Hardin and Margaret Stran, our community is actively supporting programs and initiatives that reflect a shared commitment to this University and to one another. I encourage you to join in as we continue strengthening our future and the experiences we create for our students.
Athletics Momentum
- We congratulate our Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team on an outstanding season. This year’s success, including the fourth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance and a fourth straight 25-win season, reflects the commitment, preparation and pride Coach Oats’ teams consistently demonstrates year over year.
- We welcome Pauline Love as the new head coach of Alabama women’s basketball. Coach Love brings strong leadership, experience, and a clear vision for the program, and we look forward to the impact she will make on our student-athletes and our university.
- Our baseball and softball teams continue to impress on the diamond this spring. Coach Rob Vaughn’s baseball squad is now ranked in the Top 10 in the national polls while Coach Patrick Murphy’s softball program moved up to the No. 1 spot in the country following an exciting weekend at Rhoads Stadium.
- Finally, a big shoutout to our men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball programs who represented UA at the Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball National Championships this past weekend. Our men’s team finished as national runners-up while the women’s team earned its sixth consecutive national championship.
- We are incredibly proud of all our student-athletes who continue to represent The University of Alabama at the highest level.
