Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
Welcome to the new summer term at The University of Alabama. Whether you’re teaching, learning, conducting research or simply enjoying the rhythm of campus life in these quieter months, I’m grateful for the energy and commitment you continue to bring to the Capstone.
Our mission doesn’t pause for summer, and the outstanding achievements of our students continue to shine. Just ask Aubrey Davis, who recently won the Fashion Playbook competition and earned a trip to New York Fashion Week, or Bennett Ogle, who was selected for a prestigious Boren Scholarship. We’re also opening doors for even more students to begin their academic journey with confidence through our Early College program, which recently reduced tuition by 90%.
Our faculty and staff continue to make a lasting difference as well. Dr. Sebrena Jackson, associate professor in the School of Social Work, was honored with the Buford Peace Award for her advocacy and mentorship of foster youth through the National Social Work Enrichment Program — an inspiring example of the purpose-driven work across campus.
As the summer unfolds, I encourage you to take advantage of the season’s opportunities, whether that’s diving into a project, mentoring a student or simply catching your breath before the fall. Wherever you are and whatever your goals, know that your work matters and contributes to the excellence we’re building together.
Thank you for all you do to make our campus vibrant year-round.
Roll Tide!
Stuart R. Bell
President
