Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
We are approaching the end of another successful summer semester at The University of Alabama.
I am thrilled to share that three of our outstanding student-athletes and 14 accomplished alumni are competing at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics in a range of events and representing 14 different countries. They embody the spirit of excellence and dedication that defines our institution. I encourage everyone to tune in and cheer on our UA representatives as they demonstrate greatness on the world stage.
This week, we also look forward to our summer commencement ceremony on Aug. 3 in Coleman Coliseum. This ceremony celebrates the achievements of our graduates, who hail from 50 counties in Alabama, 46 states and 19 countries. We are proud of each graduate’s accomplishments and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their future endeavors.
As we prepare for the upcoming fall semester, I want to extend a special thanks to our hardworking staff who have been diligently preparing our campus residence halls for the return of nearly 9,000 students. These students will soon be moving into one of our 34 housing community options, each of which will provide a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment thanks to the careful preparations of our facilities team whose efforts ensure that our students have a world-class environment in which to learn and thrive.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude to all of you for your commitment to the Capstone. You are the foundation of our success, and your efforts are greatly valued in making UA such an exceptional community.
Stuart R. Bell
President
