A Message from the President – August 21, 2024

Dear UA Community,

Welcome to campus and the start of the fall semester! It’s great to see familiar faces and warmly greet those joining us for the first time. We’re ready to set new goals, build on our successes and embrace this academic year’s opportunities with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence.

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Student Center this morning for our annual Welcome Back breakfast. Your energy and excitement set the tone for what I know will be a remarkable semester.

Weeks of Welcome activities are in full swing, highlighted by last night’s Script A event in Bryant-Denny Stadium, celebrating new beginnings with the Class of 2028. University Programs has planned special events, including Get On Board Day on Aug. 29 when you can connect with peers on the Quad and explore over 650 student organizations that UA offers.

‌As we start the first day of classes today, don’t forget to share your experience by using #FirstDayUA on social media. We love seeing your posts and Alabama pride and encourage you to follow and engage with our official accounts to stay connected throughout the year.

‌It’s hard to believe, but we’re just 10 days away from the start of another thrilling football season. I look forward to seeing many of you in Bryant-Denny Stadium for the first game as we cheer on our Crimson Tide and Coach DeBoer in his Alabama coaching debut.

This semester, we’re guided by the passion and dedication of our faculty and staff, whose commitment to teaching, research and service empowers our students to explore, innovate and achieve. Thank you for your ongoing service to the Capstone.

Let’s make this semester one to remember.

Roll Tide!
