Dear UA Community,
Across campus, our students, faculty and staff continue to distinguish themselves through scholarship, service and athletic excellence. I’m pleased to share a few recent highlights:
- Four UA students have been named Goldwater Scholars, the most in the SEC this year — an outstanding reflection of their academic excellence and the support of our faculty mentors.
- Alabama Adapted Athletics earned another national title as our wheelchair tennis team, led by Coach Tyler McKay, defeated Auburn to win the 2024 USTA Collegiate National Championship — highlighting UA’s competitive drive and championship culture.
- Alabama Gymnastics is advancing to the NCAA Championship semifinals after a season-high, come-from-behind performance that demonstrated true determination and spirit.
- Returning April 15-17 is Bama Blitz — our annual online fundraising event that unites the UA family in support of programs and priorities directly impacting our students. I hope faculty and staff will help make this year’s effort the most impactful yet.
- We Are UA ambassadors Shannon Hubbard and Dr. Hyunjin Noh are expanding opportunities for students through new endowed scholarships — remarkable examples of giving back in ways that shape lives.
- Explore UA anytime with our new virtual campus tour — this 360-degree experience features over 30 iconic locations, offering a dynamic look at campus life.
- Save the date: Campus Assembly is Wednesday, April 23, at 3 p.m. in the Concert Hall at the Frank Moody Music Building — please note the new time and location. I encourage all faculty and staff to attend as we reflect on our collective progress.
As we move closer to finals, thank you for your continued dedication. These moments are reminders of what makes The University of Alabama so special — a shared commitment to excellence and a community that lifts one another higher. Let’s finish the semester strong.
Roll Tide!
Stuart R. Bell
